This little dishwasher is great for apartments or kitchens with limited space. It has more capacity than a Frigidaire model that I replace it with and does a great job getting the dishes clean. For a household with two people it is the perfect size.

Be warned that if you buy an Avanti appliance and if it needs service, that it will likely require a long wait for parts. I am still waiting for my new Avanti dishwasher (which was defective out of the box) to become functional. If the required part comes in on its backorder schedule, and if I am lucky, then I will have a working dishwasher more than two months after its first installation in my kitchen. I would not buy an Avanti product again nor would I recommend one to anyone based on my experience. I wish I had not been swayed by the sleek design and low price point. If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have paid the extra $200 to get a more “brand-name” dishwasher from a more “reputable” manufacturer. Then I would be washing my dishes and not staring at the stainless steel rectangle currently taking up space in my kitchen.

Great quality product at a lower price than what is carried by local retailers. The popular dishwasher brands charge ridiculous prices for compact models while Avanti specializes in compact appliances.

Our Kitchenaid dishwasher died on Thanksgiving when we had 12 people over. I vowed never to have this problem again and bought what I thought was the best dishwasher available. This $900 Bosch died 3 weeks after installation on the day our company arrived for Christmas! It has been dead a week and we can not get anyone to fix it (bought at Pacific Sales) even though we bought a 3 yr maintenance agreement.

DONT GO NEAR IT!

I couldn’t believe my good fortune when I finally found this dish. It is impossible to find a SQUARE baker with a lid anywhere and Amazon came through (well, Le Creuset, too). My primary use for this wonderful baking dish is making the infamous “No Knead Bread” in it. With its square shape it yields a loaf that is perfect for sandwich slices. It is easy to clean and can also be put in the dishwasher. I am very happy with it – there are numerous uses for it!

Again this expensive item was shipped with minimal protection and was received with a broken lid (see other reviews). The box from Le Creuset is not sufficient protection for UPS to deliver safely. The item needs to be re-packaged for delivery.

Get a clue Amazon!!

I really like these, easy to clean, nothing sticks!! They do have a few “lines” on the inside bottom already but I think that’s just normal. The holders are excellent!!

We all know French White. We've all seen it and we all know what it is supposed to do. These dishes are perfect for baking and for serving. It works well and saves on dishes. It is neither the heaviest nor the lightest product on the market, but it is certainly perfectly manageable for the average person.

I am handicapped and I can still use them without difficulty.

The metal holders make it easier to remove from the oven and the covers work well for both certain cooking functions and for storage. I supplement this set with another one and it allows me to bake just about whatever I want easily. Rating: 5 / 5

The original "French White" Corningware was made of their famous pyroceramic glass, which could be used on the gas stove, put directly in the freezer, put under the broiler right from the freezer, and oh yes, also used in a microwave. And it was very unlikely to shatter if dropped. If you pounded on it with a hammer and nail you might have gotten it to break.

When World Kitchens bought the license from Corning, they decided to halt production of a line of cookware that would take anything and last forever, and dupe customers, especially brides, into thinking the stoneware "French White" was the same thing as the wonderful French White pyroceramic cookware previously available. Stoneware is pottery, like a flowerpot. It's sturdy, but if dropped it will shatter, and if the edge is knocked with a spoon it is likely to chip. Repeated trips to the freezer from the over will eventually cause the glaze to craze.

The pattern is attractive and can be used with any decor, but this stuff is not, repeat, really not, what people mean when they say "Corningware." Which, btw, was much lighter weight than stoneware.

Le Creuset can do most of the above mentioned, but it being metal you cannot use it in the microwave. And it's really heavy. Stoneware cannot go on top of the stove, and repeated trips from the freezer to the oven will eventually cause it to craze and crack. And being stoneware, it will also chip, and break if dropped, etc. Pyrex glassware cannot go on the gas stove although you can take it from the freezer to the oven, and also microwave it.

The only product which could do anything was pyroceramic, and World Kitchens has chosen to remove it from the market because it is "too good."

They have recently brought back a few of the old square shapes, with the Cornflower, or plain white, calling it "vintage," but the French White shape is not making an appearance yet. If you want it, email them and ask for it!

Meanwhile, don't buy this stuff. Get Le Creuset for cooking and roasting (yes it is expensive but it lasts forever and cooks beautifully), and reheat things in Pyrex in the microwave. Rating: 1 / 5
